Appearance:
WulfBane is a Lupine Sapian (commonly refered to as "Wolvens"), a race of humanoids with strong wolven traits that first appeared on Earth eons ago. It was the extremely rare and brief encounters between Humans and Lupines that lead to the highly inaccurate legend of werewolves. While Lupines are, for the typical lay person, wolves in a humanoid form, they do not have any mystical powers that allow them to change form, nor are they the savage beasts that the humans believe they and their canid brethren to be.
WulfBane stands just over six feet tall with a strong, hefty build. His coloring is similar to the North American gray wolf with a collection of white, light and dark gray, and various shades of brown hairs in his coat.
Standard Equipment and Combat Philosophy:
Energy Pulse Riffle - Standard weapon employed by the members of the Avalonian
Planetary Defense. It has two modes of operation. The primary mode of operation discharges a rapid fire burst of energy bolts that have the effect similar to a single Zat'n'ktel shot by stunning most
life forms and being capable of disrupting electrical equipment, but without the
undesirable cumulative effect of death and destruction caused by additional hits from the Zat'n'ktel. The secondary firing mode is capable of firing off a high
powered "concussion pulse", which has a similar destructive effect as the Goa'uld Staff Weapon. WulfBane typically prefers to use the primary mode when engaging enemy troops, saving the concussion pulse blast for cases where they need to damage physical structures rather then using it directly on the opposing soldiers. But if the need arises and the threat is great enough, he will not hesitate to fire a concussive blast at those who stand in his way.
Twin Sawed-off Leaver Action Shotguns - For cases when their are going to be close range confrontations or if for some reason, WulfBane is not using his EPR, WulfBane carries a pair of sawed-off shotguns in a special
holsters on his back. He has developed and perfected a technique in which he can quickly grab a shotgun from over his shoulder, quickly flip it to cock it as he brings it over his shoulder, and fire at his target. He is also able to operate both shotguns together as effectively as if he was simply using one, capable of targeting two separate targets or focusing both guns on the same target, as well as being able to choose to 'fire & flip' both guns
simultaneously or firing one gun while he 'flips' the other. His effectiveness at operating the twin shotguns causes most 'quick draw standoffs' and standoffs with multiple people already training their weapons on their opposition to end in his favor (some peacefully due to his reputation, some not so peacefully).
Avalonian Communication and Sensor Helm - To many people, the Sensor Helm employed by the APSF resembles an oddly shaped
metallic skull cap because it consists of a form fitting metallic hemisphere that covers the top, left side, and back of the wearer's head, as well as an arm that extends from off the back along the right side of the wearer's jaw with a microphone pickup at the end. It also contains cut outs to allow the wearer's ears to fit through & provide ear phones and a blue
monocle lens over the wearer's left eye that can operate as a Heads-Up-Display (HUD). The Sensor Helm is a multi-purpose tool, providing a radio
communications link and a variety of displays on HUD lens. These include 360-deg radar and motion tracking situational awareness display, area mapping display, multiple EM band displays (such as IR and UV spectrum), and weapon aim point display (requires special neural connections that many, including WulfBane, chose not to have implanted). Helm operation requires extensive training because all Helm functions are commanded by the thoughts of the wearer. (For the untrained, the display would either appear blank or would utterly block the user's vision through that eye by constantly switching
among display modes. Due to the compact size and multi-purpose suite of electronics in the helm, the sensor range is
severely limited (though more specialized models can provide extended range, clarity, and/or additional features). To
counter this though, the sensor helm is capable of receiving and compiling additional information from all other helms in use in the area, as well as information from most other sensor sources
(satellites, radar towers, vehicle based electronics packages, etc).
Tactical Armor Vest - Though it is a form of armor, the vest employed by the APSF is
primarily designed to be light and grant full, unencumbered movement while offering limited protection in a variety of environmental conditions and reducing the damage potential by medium weapons and stopping most smaller sized weapons. It also provides a means for the wearer to carry a larger assortment of equipment with little-to-no
encumbrance.
Family:
WulfBane is a proud member of the "Wulf" clan of Avalon Prime. The Wulf clan is a clan of Lupines that are well
renounced for their prowess in battle as well as their high ideals of honor. Members of the Wulf clan, like many of the other Avalonian clans,
aren't given a true name at birth. Instead, often in their youth, they will earn their name. The name they are given is based on how they perform, both in quality and technique,
during their naming quest. If they exemplify the core philosophies of their clan, they will also be granted the honor of carrying the name of their clan in their own name (though it is not considered a dishonor to fall short of this goal). WulfBane, in addition to being able to include "Wulf" in his
name, earned the name "Bane", a highly prized and honored name in Avalonian and Wulf history, due to his ferocity and
thoroughness that he employed.
WulfBane currently has no direct family of his own, though he is quite active and supports the other members of the Wulf clan.
Special:
WulfBane has a high moral philosophy based heavily on honor. While he doesn't have
qualms about causing the death of those who oppose him, if he feels that it can be avoided, he does so. Additionally, he will often honor the death of those who he had to bring down. Also, he will stop any harm
occurring to the innocent and unprotected, feeling that it is one of the most dishonorable acts possible.
WulfBane has performed many great deeds for Avalon Prime and the name of honor. One of the first he performed as a young Lieutenant in the Avalonian
Planetary Defense lead to the discovery of Fox Fire Omega on the scorched
and abandoned remains of Alderon Omega on a survey mission to assess
the re-inhabitability of the planet after the Goa'uld forces massacred
and destroyed all the settlements on the world. (For more information, view Fox Fire Omega's profile).
Felt to be his greatest contribution to Avalon Prime, WulfBane spearheaded the formation of the Avalon Prime Strike Force (APSF), an elite fighting force consisting of squads made up of individuals who have proved that they are
among the best in their field. WulfBane's own squad, designated APSF-1
(coincidental to the similarity in the naming of SG-1), consists of Colonel WulfBane himself, Major Fox Fire Omega, the chief
weapons expert for the APSF with a temper as firey as his name, and Captain Alpha Gryph, top rated VT-TAC pilot with a very free spirited and humorous attitude. Occasionally, other members of the APSF are given the honor of joining APSF-1 on missions when their own
specialty is called for.
